What costs does legal aid cover?

Legal aid includes:

 

  • temporary exemption from payment of cash expenses (e.g. court fees, witness fees)
  • Exemption from security deposits for legal costs
  • Involvement of a lawyer in cases of absolute obligation to be represented, or otherwise, if necessary.

 

It should be noted in connection with legal aid that this only concerns the bearing of one’s own costs. Thus, if one enjoys legal aid and loses the case, one must reimburse the costs of the winning opponent.
