FAQ

Can the contact also be forced?

Compulsory enforcement is only possible if there is a court decision, an agreement has been reached in court, or custody has been determined before the registrar. The court can then order coercive means such as fines or coercive detention upon application or ex officio. If this is unsuccessful, custody may be withdrawn or restricted.

However, personal contact cannot take place against the express will of a child that is of age.

In order to avoid problems in exercising the right of contact, a visitation escort by a third person can be requested. In proceedings for the compulsory enforcement of contact rights, the court may also appoint visitation mediators to assist.
