FAQ

I do not have custody rights. Do I still have the right to contact my child?

Yes, each parent of a minor child has the right to personal relationship with the child including the right to maintain personal contact. The right of contact shall also be arranged amicably. If such a consensual solution is not reached, the court must regulate the contact at the request of the child or one of the parents. In doing so, it must take into account the best interests of the child.

The court may, if necessary, restrict and even prohibit personal contacts, if this seems necessary due to, e.g., violence against the child.
