How long does the court have to decide whether to impose pre-trial detention?

After the accused has been taken to the correctional institution, the court shall interrogate the accused and decide within 48 hours at the latest whether the accused shall be released or whether pre-trial detention shall be imposed.

The decision in question shall be announced orally to the accused immediately, together with the reasons for it. If pre-trial detention is imposed, the decision shall also be served on the person concerned and his defense counsel within 24 hours.
