FAQ

When is one eligible for marriage?

To be capable of marrying, one must be of age (exception see next question)—that is, have reached the age of 18—on the one hand, and capable of making decisions on the other. The person must be able to understand the meaning and consequences of marriage and act accordingly. If the person has reached the age of majority, decision-making capacity is presumed.
