The adult representative – but not the advance power of attorney – is particularly obligated to maintain contact, with personal contact occurring at least once a month. The adult representatives are also required to report annually to the court on the organization of personal contact and the matters to be taken care of in the coming year. If the adult representative is entrusted with the care of assets, the court must monitor the management of the assets and, if necessary, issue appropriate orders to the representative.
Both adult representatives and advance power of attorneys are also subject to a duty of confidentiality regarding all circumstances and facts that become known in the course of their activities.
